Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Shopify applications published by Liquid Monks, currently PriorCopy. It describes what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
PriorCopy does not access your customers or your orders. Not their names, not their email addresses, not their order history — the app does not request the permissions that would allow it to. Shopify already exports customers and orders to CSV natively. What Shopify does not keep is a history of your products and content, and that is the only thing this app is for.
What we collect
When you install PriorCopy, we read and store copies of store content so that we can show you what changed and put it back:
- Products, variants and collections, including descriptions, titles, SEO fields, pricing, options and metafields
- Pages, blogs and blog posts
- Navigation menus and URL redirects
- Metaobjects
- Per variant, the shipping weight and whether the variant requires shipping. Stock levels are not read, and no inventory is ever written back.
Store policies, metafield definitions, theme files and inventory quantities are not read or stored in this version. The app does not request the permission that would let it read theme files, and holds no exemption to do so. If that ever changes, this policy changes with it before any theme file is read.
We also store the information Shopify gives us to run the app: your shop domain, the permissions you granted, and an access token.
What we deliberately do not collect
Customers, orders, draft orders, abandoned checkouts, refunds, transactions and gift cards. The app does not request these permissions, so it cannot read them even by mistake. We also exclude blog article author fields, because they identify a member of your staff.
Why we process it
Only to provide the service: taking snapshots of your store content, showing you the differences between them, restoring content you ask us to restore, and verifying that those restores work. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train machine-learning models.
How long we keep it

The 30-day limit is not a preference. Section 6.2.3 of Shopify's API License requires every app to delete all merchant data within 30 days of being uninstalled, and that covers product copy as much as anything else.
You are not left stranded by that deadline. When you uninstall, we generate a complete export of your history and email a download link to your store's contact address before the data is removed. Data you hold is yours to keep.
Where it is stored, and who can reach it
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Every store's content is stored under its own isolated namespace, so removing one store's data is a single, verifiable operation that cannot touch another store's.
We use two infrastructure providers, and no others:
- Contabo — application and database hosting, Germany
- Cloudflare R2 — encrypted object storage for snapshot content
Access is limited to the Liquid Monks staff who operate the service, and access to stored content is logged.
Your customers' rights
Shopify sends us three mandatory privacy requests on your customers' behalf: a request for their data, a request to erase it, and a request to erase an entire shop's data. We respond to all three. Because PriorCopy holds no customer data, the honest answer to the first two is that we hold nothing about that person — and we say so rather than staying silent.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or how long we keep it, we will email the address on your account before the change takes effect.
