A studio in residence — Chicago · Costa Rica

Quiet systems,
flowing interfaces.

Liquid Monks is a two-person studio designing considered software and digital craft. We work slowly, ship deliberately, and leave things a little calmer than we found them.

02 — The Practice

How we work.

I.

Research & listen

We begin by reading your product end to end — your analytics, your support queue, your repo. The best brief is the one we write together after.

II.

Sketch in code

We prototype in the real material: HTML, CSS, and whatever framework earns its weight. Decisions get made against working software, not slides.

III.

Ship, then tend

Launch is the middle of the project, not the end. We stay on for 30 days of tending — fixing what the real world finds first.

IV.

Hand it back

Clean code, written for the person who inherits it. Runbooks for the boring parts. A short note on what we'd do next.

03 — Notes from the Cloister

Things we've written.

04 — Contact

Have something small and considered in mind?

We take on a few projects a quarter. Tell us what you're making, when you'd like it in the world, and what "good" looks like to you.
